Walking across the Cartierheide to enjoy some peace and quiet. Searching for a deer in the twilight, or just strolling along the boardwalk. Anything is possible here. The landscapes in the Pearl of the Kempen features fabulous streams, woodlands and areas of natural beauty with pools and heathland. It is also rich in cultural history. There are 4 experience routes in Vessem: ‘the Pilgrims Route’, the ‘Myth of the Herbalist’ walk, the ‘ Kempenland and Dwaalland Route’ and the route ‘Around the Rietven’. You can follow these using the Beleef de Kempen app. The app provides background information at various points of interest, such as photos, recordings and videos.
